About the 1 Oz 2022 silver kangaroo coin
The Australian Silver Kangaroo Coin series came out in 1993 and is minted by Perth Mint. The 2022 edition is the newest edition to the coin series. The coins are made of one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver with the effigy of a kangaroo, thus the name. On the reverse of the coin, the words “2022 1oz 9999 Silver” are written just below the effigy of the kangaroo. Above the kangaroo, there are the words “Australian Kangaroo”. The iconic red kangaroo is surrounded by rays of sunlight. Lastly, the reverse face of the coin also includes Perth Mint’s classic “P” mark on the right.
On the obverse of the coin, there is the effigy of the side profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy of the Queen was designed by Jody Clark. The initials of the artist are found on the Queen’s shoulder. Above the Queen, the words “Elizabeth II Australia” are inscribed. Below the Queen, “1 Dollar” is inscribed.
