More About the NASA Logo

Until 1992, the logo was a stylized “worm.” Red on white was designed to depict movement and change, much as life continues despite humans or nature’s challenges. The worm design has been revived for special events or marketing, such as when SpaceX’s Crew-Demonstration 2 Mission rocket was revealed.

A new logo for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration was unveiled in 1975. It was made by Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn. This emblem would eventually become one of the organization’s most recognizable logos.
