Both investors and collectors prize the 2022 1/4 oz American Eagle Gold Coin. This coin, produced by the United States Mint, is made primarily of 22-karat gold, which has a purity level of 91.67%. Silver and copper are used to strengthen the coin’s durability.

On the coin’s obverse (front side), Augustus Saint-Gaudens created the fabled Lady Liberty image. In this famous representation, Lady Liberty is pictured holding an olive branch in her left hand to represent peace and a torch in her right hand to represent illumination. 

In 1986, the same year the Gold Eagle series was first minted, Miley Busiek debuted a design on the reverse (back side) of the coin. This imagery includes a male bald eagle. 

Along with its weight and denomination, the coin also features the year of issue (2022), the words “Liberty” and “In God We Trust.” It is legal tender with a face value of $10 USD, but because it contains gold and is in high demand among collectors, its market value is typically much higher.
