Gold Panda coins are among the few bullion coins with an annual design change. This series was updated in 2016 to reflect the metric system. The 1-ounce Gold Panda has been replaced by this 30-gram Gold Panda, which still contains.999 pure Gold.

The panda’s design varies every year, making them very valuable. The only year they did not update the design was 2002 when they used the same format as in 2001. Collectors protested the suspension of design modifications, and the yearly adjustments resumed in 2003.
