The Royal Mint presents the second coin in a series celebrating the Tudor dynasty.

The mythical Yale of Beaufort graces this Silver Coin, said to be the protector of England’s treasures and one of the most popular creatures in heraldry. Also, it embodies strength and wisdom and might make it an excellent representation of this series.

The Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace is adorned with ten-stone Royal Beasts. These guardians represent Henry VIII and Jane Seymour’s union and ancestral roots. And the inspiration for this new bullion series is a beastly array of bears, hounds, griffins, and lions called The Royal Tudor Beasts.

It is the second coin in the bullion series to feature the Yale of Beaufort. David Lawrence has portrayed the mythical creature on the obverse of the coin in the form of a chain-mail texture background. While Her Majesty The Queen is featured on the coin’s reverse in Jody Clark’s fifth definitive coinage portrait.

Significantly, strike this coin with 999.9 of fine silver to the bullion standard, then available in its two-ounce version, as well as a fine gold and platinum edition.
