Perth Mint is excited to release a new coin from the Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle Series. Moreover, it features a spectacular depiction of Australia’s most giant bird. The coin struck from 1 troy ounce of 99.99% fine silver and has a limited mintage of only 50,000. 

This magnificent 2022 silver Wedge-tailed Eagle coin is designed by John M. Mercanti, a well-known Perth Mint designer. He adopted a coining technique, an ultra-high relief strike that offers a 3-dimensional view to the coin’s backside. 

On the obverse side of the coin, her majesty Queen Elizabeth II is portrayed her right profile and wearing the fetching crown. The image is girded by the words “ELIZABETH II,” the face value “1 DOLLAR,” and issuing country “AUSTRALIA,.” 

On the reverse side of the coin, ultra-high relief depicts the face of the Wedge-tailed Eagle, Australia’s most giant bird. The picture is girded by the words “AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE,” weight and purity “1 OZ 9999 SILVER”, year issue “2022,” and the Mint mark “P.”
