The obverse of the 2021 Werewolf Creatures of The North coin contains the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, with the words “D.G Regina” meaning “Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, the Queen.” This portrait was designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003. It is the fourth-generation portrait of the Queen in Canadian Coins during her time as queen. This side of the coin also displays the face value of $10, as well as the year the coin was issued, which is 2021. Both sides of the coin display incredible precise radical lines.

The reverse of the 2021 2 Oz Werewolf Creatures of The North coin has the design of a menacing werewolf, designed by Gerald Gloade. While stories of strange creatures have always been around for years, the story of the loup-garou is a significantly popular one in the province of Quebec. The legend dates back to the age of New France. The history of the story itself has caused lots of trials and executions. The legend of the werewolf has now made its way into the Creatures of The North coin series. The reverse of the coin also displays the words “Fine Silver 2Oz” and “Argent Pur” which means fine silver in French. Like most Canadian coins, it also includes the word Canada as well.
