About 1 Oz Silver Majestic Polar Bear Coin

The Royal Canadian Mint created the 1 oz. Fine Silver Coin – Celebrating Oscar Peterson as a tribute to one of Canada’s most illustrious jazz musicians. This limited-edition coin has a face value of $20 Canadian and is made of 99.99% pure silver.

Oscar Peterson is depicted on the coin’s reverse side playing the piano in his distinctive manner. Along with the name “Oscar Peterson,” the design also features the musical notes from his well-known song “Hymn to Freedom,” as well as the dates of his birth and death.

On the obverse side of the coin, there is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the denomination and the year of production. The coin has a diameter of 38mm and a thickness of 3.15mm.
